Joanne P. Bartlett was a devoted educator, leader, and cherished member of the St. Paul’s community in Maryland. Over more than three decades, she dedicated herself to nurturing students, guiding faculty, and strengthening the mission of the schools she served.

Joanne began her remarkable career at St. Paul’s School for Girls in 1988 as a college counselor, senior class dean, and assistant field hockey coach. She later served as an admissions officer until 1997, leaving a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike. Her commitment to the schools continued beyond her faculty years through her exemplary service on the Board of Trustees. Elected to the SPSG Board in 2013, Joanne became board president in 2016 and, in 2018, was named the inaugural chief executive officer of the unified St. Paul’s Schools Board of Trustees. She was instrumental in guiding the unification of the schools and strengthening their shared mission, and most recently contributed to the steering committee for the SPSG building project. Joanne received the Robert Pollock Trustee Service Award in 2019 and the Green Apple Award in 2024, honors reflecting her extraordinary leadership, collaboration, and devotion.
